CamboWP

The Cambodia Water Partnership (CamboWP) is a country water partnership that was established to support the promotion IWRM process in Cambodia since 2006 within the framework of Global Water Partnership (GWP) that its network is within Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA). With financial support from GWP Core Budget, CamboWP operates its mandate within CNMC Frameworks to promote the IWRM process and implementation.

CamboWP was established with clear guidance and directions of H.E. Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), we are very much greatful for His Exellency's supports in promotion of this network for IWRM at national level (within CNMC, the Host Institution of CamboWP) as well as in the Cambodia. We thank also H.E. Mr. Sin Niny, Permanent Vice-Chairman of CNMC for his all supports and valuable advices for CamboWP establishment.

We would like to thank and highly appreciate strong and continuing supports from national line agencies and other stakeholders as well as from GWP, Cap-Net, GWA and ADB that CamboWP has been active up to date. We would like to thank specially for persons from oversea namely (1) Dr. Mercy Dikito-Wachtmeister, Senior Network Officer, GWP Southeast Asia/ GWP South Asia, Global Water Partnership Secretariat; (2) Mr. Djoko Sasongko, GWP-SEA Regional Coordinator; (3) Dr. Paul Taylor, Director of Cap-Net; (4) Mr. Ian W. Makin, Senior Water Resources Management Specialist, SEAE, Asian Development Bank and ADB Focal Poin for GWP-Cambodia for their valuable support and advise since CamboWP established.

The Website of CamboWP is one of CamboWP achievement in 2010 as resulted from good cooperation among all who involved in CamboWP activities implementation. There is available document on 4-Ps Basin pilot project and IWRM ToolBox Khmer version and IWRM for River Basin Organization in the website that would be useful for Cambodian to learn about IWRM.

As it is the first Website for IWRM in Cambodia, we know that it is not full good yet, it still requires to upload more information and translation to Khmer language. The Translation is our challenge because we do not have yet in Google Translation availability. However day by day we try our best to develop this website to be useful and helpful for all in order to get and share good information on IWRM in Cambodia and in the world especially through GWP networks.
